  • January 19th and 20th, 2013, Central Iowa Kennel Club
  • First show of the new year. Not bad, not great. Brenda Combs, Suzi Kipp and Liz, lots of competition. Magic went Select on Saturday and there was also Owner Handler Groups in which Magic placed Fourth against some nice competition. Ellie went BOS both Saturday and Sunday with her coat in not the best condition.

  • January 19th

Ellie finally comes into season. We had planed to breed her to Magic this year, but the opportunity to breed to the top Standard Schnauzer in the country came up. Plans are in the works to breed out GCH Cedar Hills Enchanted Yellow Rose to Gold Grand Champion GCH Pepper Tree Zorro v Morgenwald.

  • January 26th.

Ellie and I travel to Illinois to visit Zorro and let Ellie stay with Penny Duffee and be bred.

  • February 7th, 8th and 9th.

Ellie is bred to Zorro. Puppies should arrive around April 11th. See the puppy page. Contact us at ..... Jon1Rosenberg@Yahoo.com ... for inquiries and information on this incredible litter.

  • February 16th and 17th, Cyclone County Kennel Club

Nice show in a new location at the Des Moines Fair Grounds. We took Magic and Shade in the Specials ring. Linda and Odie came to show also. On Saturday, Shade excelled and went BOS to Suzi Kipp and a average girl. Magic went Select. Seemed like the dogs were in slow motion and Magic really seemed under the weather on Sunday. But it was Magics turn to go BOS on Sunday with Shade taking the Select for a good start on his Grand Championship. Odin was Reserve Winners both days.

  • March 30th and 31st. Clinton Iowa KC, DeWitt, IA

Nice show. I couldn't attend because of Work obligations and Suzanne was showing for our friend Gretchen. Good show Wish I could have been there. Magic went BOS both days with w Junior Handler on him. Shade went Select both days and got a win over a champion toward his Grand Championship. Suzanne did well with Gretchens, Maddie, going BOB both days and picking up a Group 4.

  • April 13th. Puppies are born!

Since Ellie was getting past her due date we decided to have the puppies C-section. There were two in there, but the first little guy couldn't make it and was causing the birthing problems. The second little boy was strong and a fighter and after a bit of a slow start is doing fine.

His tail and dew claws were removed in April 16th.

  • April 20th and 21st. Waterloo Kennel Club.
  • Fun show! Magic took BOB both days and picked up a Group 4 on Sunday to wrap up his Silver Grand Championship!!!! Way to go Magic. He looked and moved like a dream, what a way to end his Show career. Now for rest and a few times in as a Veteran.

Stormy and Shade also got to show and took turns going Select. Each got another win over a Champion towards their Grands. Suzanne showed Maddie and went BOS both days.

  • April 27th and 28th. Marshalltown Kennel Club.

We didn't enter any dogs in conformation, but Stormy got his first try at Rally. Nice to get in there ....he still need a little work. He actually qualified on Sunday for his first Novice leg. Way to go Stormy! Suzanne showed Maddie and went BOB on Saturday. It was nice to give the camper a trial run as we are getting ready for the Schnauzerpalooza in a couple weeks.

  • May 13th through 18th .... Schnauzerpalooza at Purina Farms.
Three sizes of Schnauzers gathered together to make history.

Lot's going on here. I am on the SSCA Board of Governors so I had a number of Club activities to attend. We didn't show much. Suzanne showed Maddie. I had the pleasure of showing Sparky. We also entered Magic in Veterans class a couple days. He also passed his CGC test and gained that title. Great fun .... over 130 Standards there. Wonderful time watching the Agility ring where Linda, Sylvia and Kathi showed. Great seminar with Pat Hastings. Marco had fun helping with the grounds people ... helped park campers. Great time with friends of the breed. We even brought Phantom along ... only 3 weeks old.

  • June 15th and 16th. Fort Dodge Kennel Club.

We like camping at this show so we decided to enter. We also were showing a bitch for one of Julia Chalmers placings (Song). Magic showed very well and went BOB both days. He really seemed excited to be back in the ring after a number of weeks out. He is supposed to be retired, but he still like to be in the ring, so we may show him from time to time. Song was BOS both days as there was no other girls.

  • June 22nd and 23rd Iowa City Kennel Club.

Penny Duffee came down to take the wins with her fine girl both days and even winning the Group one day. She really wanted to get a look at Phantom (Zorro and Ellie pup) and see how he was growing. She really liked him and even had a couple handlers evaluate him to raving reviews. We also showed Magic at these shows and he went BOS both days.

  • July 13th and 14th. Southeastern Iowa Kennel Club, Ottumwa, IA.

Interesting show. A Housekeeper dog showed up with a handler and went BOB both days. Magic was Select. We also showed Ellie and she went BOS on Saturday and Select on Sunday and went in the Owner Handler Group.

  • August 23rd Heartland Standard Schnauzer Club Regional Specialty.
August 24th and 25th. St. Croix Valley Kennel Club, Lake Elmo MN.

At the Specialty Suzanne just showed Ellie and she looked wonderful, getting a Select with a large entry. I got the chance to show Sparky (CH Von Rose Commander Sparks ... a Magic and Cinder kid). He did well, but he is still pretty young to take the big prize. On Saturday and Sunday Ellie went BOS both days .... she showed very well. Magic was shown in the Veterans class both which he won. He also went Select dog from the Veterans class .... pretty good for the old boy. Suzanne showed Stormy in the Rally ring where Stormy qualified both days ( Third in class on Saturday and first in his class on Sunday .... best Standard Schnauzer both days!) and finished his RN title! It was nice to relax and visit with a number of friends.

  • August 30th, 31st, and September 1st. Amana shows. Tri City Kennel Club and Cedar Rapids Kennel Association.

Suzanne showed Maddie (Gretchens girl out of Georges breeding). She wasn't in the best coat and a touch heavy, but she still managed Selects all three days. We entered Magic on Saturday and Sunday, but there were some very nice dogs there with some very good Handlers. Little Phantom entered his first show ... a B Match. Penny Duffee was at this show and we let her show him. He did very well and got a group 2! The Judge really liked him.

  • September 7th and 8th. Des Moines Kennel Club.

Nice show. Magic showed well and had a great time going BOB both days. Stormy got entered in breed kind of by accident on Saturday and came home with a Select. Stormy was also shown in the Rally ring and was first in his class. Nice work.

  • October 12th and 13th. Mason City Kennel Club.

Good show. We entered Ellie both days just for fun, her coat wasn't in the best of shape but we like to go to this show and Magic is now officially retired. He did something to a leg or his back and is has slowed him down. He had a great run in the ring and I will miss showing him. But Phantom turns six months on Sunday and I will get to show him for the very first time. Ellie goes Select on Saturday. And Phantom in his first show goes Reserve to t five point major. Not bad for the first time in the big ring!

  • October 15th. We take Ellie to Illinois for breeding.
  • November 9th and 19th. Coulee County Kennel Club.

Nice shows. Suzanne went up with our Ridgeback friends to help out. I had work responsibilities. Phantom was entered, but had been chewing his furnishings. Not much hair to work with. But he did well in the ring going reserve both days to majors again and taking a puppy group three on Saturday.

  • November 25th. Had Ultrasound done on Ellie to prove she is pregnant.
The vets best guess is that there are five.
  • December 20th. X-ray is done and it looks like there will be 5 pups coming.
  • December 25th. Yes Christmas day. The five pups are born be C-section.
Two boys and three girls. We are thrilled to have some girls. Now to find          show homes.
